State of the Race

Voters will learn that Lori Chavez-DeRemer is a bipartisan results-getter for Oregon. Chavez-DeRemer was ranked as the second most bipartisan member in Congress after she championed legislation to help reduce homelessness, get dangerous fentanyl off the streets, protect IVF for women, and reduce the cost of living for Oregonians.

Releasing Prisoners

Janelle Bynum is a soft-on-crime extremist who twice supported the release of thousands of violent criminals from Oregon prisons, with criminals going on to commit violent crimes like rape and murder after their release.

Failing to Stand Up for Kids

Janelle Bynum was rebuked by both Democrats and Republicans for failing to hold hearings on legislation that would strengthen criminal penalties for teachers convicted of sexual abuse.

Defund the Police

Janelle Bynum is a vocal critic of Oregon police officers and a supporter of the Defund the Police movement. In the wake of deadly riots, Bynum worked to prohibit the police from arresting criminals, including burglars. Local police then blamed Bynum’s legislation for preventing their response to deadly riots.

Protecting the Accused over Victims

Janelle Bynum was the only Democrat in the Oregon House to vote against giving rape victims more time to file civil suits against their rapists. Janelle said it was her “job” to “protect the accused,” rather than victims.

Taxes for Thee But Not for Me

Janelle Bynum has repeatedly voted for tax hikes as a state legislator but doesn’t believe in paying them herself. Bynum has been delinquent on her property taxes going back to 2007 and as recently as 2018.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer was the first female and Hispanic Mayor of Happy Valley from 2010-2018 where she led Oregon’s fastest-growing community. As Mayor, Lori presided over important changes in the city, making it more business-friendly, offer more affordable housing options for families, and a safe place to build a career and raise a family.

Lori continued to shatter glass ceilings when she was elected the first Hispanic Republican and first Republican woman member of Congress from Oregon. In Congress, Lori has led bipartisan legislation to help reduce homelessness, get dangerous fentanyl off the streets, protect IVF for women, and reduce the cost of living for Oregonians. That’s why Lori was ranked as Oregon’s most bipartisan member of Congress and the second most bipartisan member of Congress in the entire country.

Lori is married to her high school sweetheart, Dr. Shawn DeRemer. She helped Shawn found Anesthesia Associates Northwest, and they now run several medical clinics throughout the Pacific Northwest. Lori and Shawn are the parents of twin daughters.
