Lois Capps Top StoryFor years, Capps failed to report more than $40,000 in rental income to the IRS that she received from her Santa Barbara home and only recently amended her tax returns after the story made headlines. In her 14 years in Washington, Lois Capps supported Nancy Pelosi’s $800 billion stimulus program, which gave more than $2 billion to foreign firms that employed workers in countries like China. Capps also supported providing a $535 million loan guarantee to the solar panel manufacturer Solyndra, which filed for bankruptcy in Fall 2011. In October 2008, Rep. Lois Capps voted with Nancy Pelosi for the $700 billion Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP), also known as the financial industry bailout bill. |
